Here's a list for the club treasurer -- what to do and when to do it.

When

What

When elected
  • Receive books from outgoing treasurer
  • Complete new signature cards at the bank
Month prior to new term
  • Prepare upcoming term's budget
  • Receive and deposit dues and remit to headquarters
By December 31
  • Make sure journal records are up to date
  • Prepare mid-year comparison budget for the board of directors
Throughout the term
  • Keep club books
  • Balance club bank statements
  • Prepare and present treasurer's report for the Board and membership
  • Receive and deposit meeting fees and other income
  • Provide club voucher to members submitting expenses
  • Pay bills
End of term
  • Prepare year-end comparison budget
  • Turn club books and checkbook over to auditor
